Megan has been involved in sports and fitness in one way or another since she was knee high to a grass hopper. She started in soccer, playing with local and provincial level teams, even heading to Nationals in 1997 to represent our little province on the big field. She didn't stop there, and became involved with tennis, cheerleading, basketball and track.
Megan pursued her love of movement in education, graduating from Dalhousie University with a BSc Kinesiology. She was selected to represent the student athletic trainers and attend the National Championships with both the SMU Football and Basketball teams in 2008. As her love for movement evolved so did her pursuits.
Megan started hula hooping and from there, the spinning never stopped. She started in pole classes at Studio in Essence in 2009 and went from student to instructor in 2011. She discovered a passion for the world upside down.
Megan has experience with hoop dance, pole dance and on the aerial silks. She developed the first aerial silks program for the studio in 2011 and a year later co-delevoped and taught the instructor certification for aerial silks. She has performed with SIE in various events from the Apple Blossom Festival parade and Halifax Pride parade, to Fringe and Nocturne, to the ever amazing Evolve festival.
When it comes to circus and learning and spinning and going upside down she says this to YOU: If you never did you should. These things are FUN. And fun is GOOD. ~ Dr. Seuss
